Archie Comic Book Turned Work Of Art

I was looking at one of my brothers Archie comic books and I thought there was definitely a craft there waiting to happen! So I started to rip out the pages. Then I found a piece of cardboard, 12 x 12. Then I glued the Archie comic pages to the cardboard. Next I had my brother, Aidan stand against the wall which had a piece of paper taped to it. Then I held up a flashlight so it shone on his face. Then I traced the outline of his face. So once I had his silhouette, I went over it with a black sharpie. Then I cut it out and glued it on top of the Archie comic pages. Next I just drew the letters of his name with a red sharpie and outlined them in black sharpie, then cut them out and glued them to the page as well. It turned out really cool!

Mickey Bookmark

I had a bunch of leftover mickey heads that I got at Home Depot in the paint section(for free!). They came in all different colors and all I had to do was pull them off their backing, then voila I had perfectly shaped mickey heads for a seconds worth of work. I used the leftover black and white ones. I had a piece of cardboard and then just layered the heads one over the other, 5 on each side. It's exactly the same on both sides. Just with a simple glue stick every thing was secure. It turned out great!

Scrapbook Pages-My Brothers Summer in Canada

My brother goes to Canada in the summer every year to visit his Dad. So his Dad just sent my brother a Thanksgiving card with a bunch of photos inside of their summer together this year. So I scrap booked them for Aidan. Its cute what he filled out in all the boxes, but I didn't post that out of privacy.

Scrapbook Pages-Grade 1

These are scrapbook pages I made last night for my brother. It wasn't exactly a hint to get me to do this, but he came up to me last night and said "Here Cara, these are some pictures of me from when I was little." So I was like awe, he obviously wanted me to scrap these photos. I think I will make him his own album soon. So anyways, here are photos of him in Grade 1, in Canada.

Princess Bookmark

I made this Princess bookmark for myself, the other day. I love it! It's Cinderella and Prince Charming. It says "Royal Hearts", and it also has a paragraph next to it saying, "Moonlight glows from the reflecting pool, illuminating a rosy mist of romance. A night like this proves wishes do come true! Young love will blossom into a bouquet of happily ever after for the couple destined to become king and queen." Then there is a picture from the movie Cinderella, where she is walking holding hand with her Prince Charming. The back is all pink with a sticker that says LOVE.

New Scrapbook Pages

I just did these pages the other day, I'm not sure what I am going to put int hem for pictures. So they are just extras for my Halloween Scrapbook right now.

Tee Shirt Pillows

My brothers old shirts don't fit him anymore, and he doesn't want to get rid of them quite yet. (Which I totally understand, and I do the same thing with my favorite old clothes!) So that he could keep his old tee shirts, I decided to turn them into pillows. This is a good idea if your husband, or children have a favorite shirt or article of clothing that they won't let go of, but also won't be able to wear again. To make these I just flipped them inside out and sewed all of the edges together, then I stuffed with a pillow cotton. It is super simple, and hardly takes any time at all!

Jello Martini

My bother loves Jello, and constantly asks for it. I decided to make it in a fancy martini glass for him. To make this I just followed the back of the box(Add two cups boiling water to dry mix, stir till dissolved, add 12-16 ice cubes. Then stir till a bit thick). I made the fast version with ice cubes instead of cold water, where it takes about an hour for ready to eat Jello, instead of waiting 3-4 hours. This is a kid version. One pack of jello mix will make 6 martini glasses worth of jello. For a garnish, I used whip cream.

To make the adult version of a jello martini, you put the dry mix in a bowl, then add 1 and a half cups boiling water. Stir mixture till dissolved. Then add 1 cup of vodka(and it could be flavored if you wish). The add 12-16 ice cubes and stir till mixture is a bit thick. Then pour into martini glasses. I used a measuring cup to do this, and I also used a spoon to hold over the tip to make sue no ice cubes went into the martini glass. You do not want any ice cubes in your mixture, and you do not want them to all melt into your jello, or it will be very watery. One jello mix will make 6 martini glasses worth of jello martinis. If you want to use a garnish, use something sweet, like a maraschino cherry.

Pancake Sandwich

My brother loves pancakes, and insists on them every morning for breakfast. So instead of normal pancakes the other day, I made a pancake sandwich! Yum! I made it by putting whip cream in between two pancakes and squishing it together. Then I swirled maple syrup around the pancake sandwich. This would also be good if you sliced bananas or strawberries(or both!) and layered them in the whip cream as well!

Book Store Pictures

While I was at the bookstore the other day, I took the opportunity to take pictures of myself! I recently sound the self-timer on my camera so I decided to test it out. So here are some pictures of me at the bookstore.(I only got caught once, but it was more funny than embarrassing.)

On The Set Of a Modern Family Episode

This was so exciting for me! Last Friday, I was going to the bookstore by my house. Which is in The Howard Hughes Promenade, in West Los Angeles. When I got up there, I was like wow they must be doing something important because there were huge trucks and trailers lining the whole street. Then when I approached one of the huge trucks, I saw 'FOX Studios' on it! So exciting! So when I approached the main area of the Promenade I saw that there was a show taping! There was a large amount of camera equipment, and director chairs set up. I asked a woman near me what was going on and she was like "They are taping Modern Family! I love this show!". I love the show too! It is one of the funniest and most well written shows on television right now. So I moved to the side and watched them film. It was a scene with the gay couple on the show, Cam and Mitchell. It was funny. The director was really enjoying it, he yelled out "This is comedy!" after they got the shot they wanted. I won't explain the scene, but it did have to do with the escalators and an elderly couple, and maybe some cops. I'm excited to see it in an upcoming episode! It really made my day so awesome. I'll post some pictures I took and also there is a picture of the stars trailers.(Also after I watched the filming I went to the bookstore and was given a free pumpkin spice latte, it was the best day!)
